i-Exist: Spirit of the Waters
Spring Awakening Pilgrimage | March 27th – April 3rd
“The spirit of the waters does not struggle against the stone; it finds the way around, or through, or deep within.”
Join Georgi Y. Johnson and Bart ten Berge for an eight-day immersion into the fluid nature of Being. This retreat follows the path of the water—from the deep aquifers of the Glastonbury hills to the expansive wetlands of the Somerset levels.
The Classroom: Windmill Hill
Our daily teaching sanctuary remains Windmill Hill. Sitting above the town, we use this vantage point to observe the "weather" of our emotions and the "tides" of our thoughts, returning always to the vast, open sky of awareness.
The Pilgrimage Program
Friday, March 27: The Source (Arrival Day)
-
Arrival: Settle into the frequency of Avalon.
-
Opening: Invoking the Spirit of the Waters at the base of the hill.
Saturday, March 28: The Fluidity of Stone (Avebury)
-
The Journey: An early Saturday departure for Avebury.
-
The Work: By going on Saturday, we avoid the heavy M4 weekday traffic and the peak Sunday tourist groups. We walk the serpentine avenues, contemplating the "river of ancestors" and how stone holds the memory of fluid consciousness.
Sunday, March 29: The Hidden Currents (Stanton Drew)
-
The Journey: A Sunday visit to the quiet, atmospheric circles of Stanton Drew.
-
The Work: These stones stand in the floodplains of the River Chew. Because this site is a "hidden gem," it remains peaceful even on a Sunday. We explore the "underground" aspects of our spiritual life—the hidden aquifers that sustain us.
Monday, March 30: The Red & White Springs (Chalice Well)
-
Local Pilgrimage: A meditative day at the Chalice Well Gardens and the White Spring.
-
The Work: Engaging with the "Blood of the Earth." We practice silent drinking of the waters and meditation by the Holy Well, focusing on the union of opposites.
Tuesday, March 31: The Apex (Stonehenge Inner Circle)
-
Daylight: Preparation and teaching on Windmill Hill.
-
Evening: Private access to the Stonehenge Inner Circle.
-
The Work: Standing in the center of the Great Henge as the sun sets, finding the "Still Point" where the water of life becomes a mirror of the stars.
Wednesday, April 1: The Wild Waters (Shapwick Nature Reserve)
-
The Journey: To the Avalon Marshes and Shapwick Heath.
-
The Work: Walking the reed beds and the Sweet Track. Here, the water is expansive and wild. We meditate on "The Great Receptivity."
Thursday, April 2: The Persistence of Spirit (Cheddar Gorge)
-
The Journey: To the dramatic limestone cliffs of Cheddar.
-
The Work: Witnessing the power of water to carve through the hardest resistance. A day of inner breakthrough and softening.
Friday, April 3: The Ocean of Being (Departure Day)
-
Morning: Final sunrise meditation on Windmill Hill.
-
Closing: A ritual of "Returning to the Sea." Integrating the lessons of fluidity and depth before we depart at noon.
